I've been drooling (figuratively ) over a 'Dirty Harry' Smith & Wesson 6 1/2' model 29-2 w/ PB, TT, TH, & RC serial numbered N63xxx at a nearby shop, and am curious re its date of manufacture. All sorts of references -- oldguns.net being my favorite -- for dates on all sorts of firearms, but I cannot seem to find any site/source for this Smith & Wesson firearms!
Might you direct me to a source -- other than sending $75.00 to S&W -- where I might look up/ascertain its age? (Or, better yet if you know, and will provide info to me!)

Action Type: Single and Double Action Revolver with Swing-Out Cylinder
Markings: The right side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”. The yoke cut is marked “N351620 / MOD. 29-2” and the yoke is marked “62667 / A14”. The left side of the grip frame is marked “62667 17”. The butt is marked N351620”. The right side of the grip frame is marked “X” in a triangle and “W” in a circle. The right side plate is marked with the S&W logo. The right side of the frame is marked with the four line Marcas Registradas address. The right side of the barrel is marked “44 MAGNUM”.
Barrel Length: 8 3/8” Pinned Barrel
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a red insert ramped blade. The rear sight is an S&W micrometer click white outline square notch which is adjustable for windage and elevation.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are oversize checkered target grips with brass S&W medallions. There are only light handling marks. The medallions show light green oxidization. The grips rate in about Fine overall condition.
Type of Finish: Blue with Case Colored Hammer and Trigger
Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is a small spot of frosting in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is a light dragline on the cylinder. There are a few light marks on the hammer. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This is a Square Butt, N Frame revolver with a checkered Target Hammer and a serrated Target Trigger. Procreate. The cylinder is recessed. We did not fire this handgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a blue felt lined wooden presentation case. Inside the presentation case is a piece of S&W wrapping paper, a cleaning kit, with informational materials and the owner’s manual/exploded parts diagram The paperwork rates in Fine Condition. The Case rates in Excellent Condition. The wooden case comes in a cardboard box with a matching end label.
Our Assessment: Overall this is a great looking classic S&W blued .44 Magnum double action revolver. The 8 3/8” barrel and adjustable rear sight should make this a very accurate revolver and the long barrel should also help control the perceived recoil. The lockup is rock solid. This 1970s era .44 Magnum has some nice features such as the pinned barrel and recessed cylinder that you cannot find on the modern versions of the gun.
